Kevin Russo and Ramiro Pena advance to AAA Scranton for Championship Game

As first reported by Mike Ashmore, Kevin Russo and Ramiro Pena have been promoted to AAA Scranton to be available for Tuesday’s one-game-take-all Bricktown Showdown against the Pacific Coast League Champions, the Sacramento River Cats in Oklahoma City.

Russo will also be heading to the Arizona Fall League this October.

The starter for the Yankees will be Ian Kennedy, who literally asked Yankee brass for the ball in that game. He got his wish.

The extra infielders are needed to replace Bernie Castro, who went home to attend to a personal matter which left the Yankees with only four infielders, including the inexperienced Addison Maruszak, the Yankees 17th round pick in 2008 draft.
