With the Mets loss tonight and the Milwaukee Brewers beating up the Chicago Cubs regular major league lineup, it is of utmost importance for the Mets to win tomorrow.

Therefore, it brings me great pleasure to hear that, according to Jerry Manuel’s post game press conference,  Johan Santana told Jerry Manuel TWO DAYS AGO that he wanted the ball on Saturday - with only three days rest. I love it when big game pitchers WANT THE BALL.

And the Mets need Santana tomorrow more then ever. But, it would be of great benefit to the Mets if tomorrow’s game was rained out, so Santana can go Sunday on normal rest. But it was great to know Santana is thinking of the team over himself.
